Vivarium substrates require precision and proven durability. Our mix ensures just that! We've been using it in our vivariums since 2007. It is a spin on the popular Atlanta Botanical Garden (ABG) mix with some adjustments in certain ratios that we feel work a bit better in the typical planted vivarium.
- Peat moss
- Coir fiber
- Organic compost mixture
- Orchid bark
- Tree fern fiber
- Horticultural grade hardwood charcoal
Great Product, Great Customer Service

I ordered a gallon of ABG to supplement a custom substrate mix for a bioactive tank I was building. In that ordered I included a bag of the normal BPZ diet and a small bag of ColorBomb. Shipping took a rather long time, but I know shipping everything is taking forever these days, especially from small operations, so I didn't worry about it. When my ordered finally arrived, it came with a lovely note thanking me for my patience as well as some freebies: another bag of ABG, some feeding cups, and my CB was upped to the next size. I couldn't be more pleased. I've been ordering from BPZ for years for my gargoyle gecko because of their focus on insect protein and other nutritionally correct and scientifically-backed ingredients, and I will continue to support such a considerate business.
