Sphagnum is awesome as a substrate alone, for potting plants like jewel orchids and other humidity-loving orchids, for adding to a soil mix, and for use in a vivarium. It holds moisture, and can help acclimate young and immature plants.

Best Sphagnum out there

I’ve used spagmoss or besgrow sphagnum for years but recently I have yet to find any. I found this store and saw that they had long fiber sphagnum moss so decided to get 3 gallons of it. I gotta say this is cleaner than besgrow’s spagmoss brand and softer. I am using this for Carnivorous plants and it is perfect for them. I highly recommend this sphagnum, it’s soft, clean, highly absorbent, and intact meaning it has long strains of sphagnum and not chopped up.
